Overview:
The Smart Fabrication has recently added a profile cutter to their workshop inventory capable of cutting mild steel plate up to 150mm thick. Since its installation, Smart Fab has been able to significantly cut its turnaround time on urgent jobs, keeping our customers satisfied and getting the job cut and fabricated in record times. Unlike the typical 5-6 day turn around time offered from other “larger” profile cutting companies, Smart Fabrication prides itself on their ability to be able to offer better service in half our competitors time.
The profile cutter operates four oxy heads capable of running simultaneously, utilizing time efficiently. The bed has a cutting capacity of 3500 x 1800mm, but this does not limit the sheet size as the bed has been engineered for overhang. Our profile cutter has also been modified to include a bevelling function, one advantage being it enables us to replace earthmoving equipment cutting edges quickly and easily.
We can cut whatever you can draw, or alternatively we can get our engineer to supply 3D master drawings and rendered images of the entire project before a piece of steel is even touched. This facility means that you can supply as little as a template or even just dimensions for us to work with and draw upon the spot. Another great time saving initiative and another great reason to deal with Smart Fabrication.
Once profile cut, the work is then fabricated and painted according to the customer’s requirements. Our certified ISO 9001:2008 quality process approach to designing, planning, manufacturing, commissioning and testing of all work means that if the profile cut work is part of a major project or even a simple stand alone piece, each stage must pass inspection, to ensure your product is delivered as requested.
By offering an in-house profile cutting service, we can reduce turnaround times for urgent jobs by eliminating the need for outsourcing. We carry a wide variety of stock on the premises and have quick access to less standard stock through our excellent relationships with our suppliers.
